Trying to locate members of the Marine Detachments that served aboard USS Curtiss
during 1948 to 1957, and participated in any of the following operations:
Sandstone
Green House
Ivy
Castle
Surfboard
Wigwam
Redwing
Deep Freeze II

The detachments held their 1st reunion in San Diego, CA (7 - 9 May 1998)
                           2nd reunion in Las Vegas, NV (26-30 Apr 1999).
                           3rd reunion in San Diego, CA (8 -12 May 2000)

We are now in the planning stage for our 4th reunion.

To date 170 former Marines have been located. We would like to contact all former
members of the ship's detachments even if you are not able to attend the reunion.

For additional information.

This site is dedicated to the memory of Staff Sergeant Ambrosio Guillen. He was presented
the MEDAL OF HONOR posthumously for his actions with 2/7/1 in Korea during 1953.
SSgt Guillen served aboard the USS Curtiss during Operation Green House.

This site is also dedicated to the other Marines of the ship's detachments who have
received their final transfer orders to guard duty on the streets of Heaven.
